About Castle Clash / Review

Castle Clash is one of the many indie games that quite blatantly copies its predecessor and doesn’t really do that much to create a new gaming experience.

Castle Clash is yet another base building strategy game in which you must build a base, develop your army, attack your opponents, gather and research various things to create new items, collect resources and so on in order to become the most powerful player. It’s basically another Clash of Clans game. The difference with Castle Clash is in its aesthetic; it does at least have a different artistic style and that provides a somewhat different experience even if the gameplay is identical to what has gone before.

The single player experience is limited. You play through a series of levels in which you must attack a pre-built base. As I said, the single player is limited but it does have an important purpose: teaching gamers to play the game. The single player is basically about sharpening your teeth. The single player offers advice on how to improve your skills so that you can be successful in the multiplayer.

There is a dramatic rise in difficulty that occurs and this puts the player off. Thankfully it’s easy to level up so you can pass the harder stages.

Castle Clash is really about the multiplayer. You have to pay gold to play a battle and it’s random as to how skilled your opponent will be. Sadly this means there are many far too one-sided battle that take place.
If there’s one area in which Castle Clash is lacking its in the combat. The gameplay really could have done with more development time as it lacks polish. You simply tap where you want to place your units and then they attack nearby enemy constructions. It’s far too simple.

Castle Clash seems like a rushed game. It should have been given a long development period. As it is, it’s a little flooded by genre competition. For our list of games like Castle Clash see below.

In the game, you set up your weapons (which are manned by cute-looking gophers) and have them attack that pesky dinosaur.

Every level of Go Home Dinosaurs has a unique map on which you can position your defensive effort around the paths the dino will walk down. In order to get hold of your weapons you’ll need to unlock them by completing level. As with most Tower Defence game you must take finance into account. The currency in Go Home Dinosaurs!
