I’ve been on a hunt for some great games like Alice in Madness Returns. And I’ve found some great titles for all different systems. Outlast is a game in the stealth survival horror genre and was made by video game developer Red Barrels. Outlast features a strong story driven survival campaign told in first person narrative and set in a psychiatric hospital.Visually it is similar to the typical horror movie. You play as a protagonist who cannot fight other than by shoving enemies away. There are no traditional weapons and so your modus operandi is stealth. You’ll need to use the environment intelligently to avoid enemies.

Alan Wake

PLATFORMS: Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows

Alan Wake was create by video game developer Remedy and is a third-person action adventure psychological game originally released for XBox 360 in 2010 and then later for PC.

Alan Wake is styled in the manner of a TV series with episodes in a style reminiscent of Twin Peaks. You play as Alan Wake, a triller novelist suffering from writers block. In the hope of curing his writers block Alan Wake has taken a vacation to Bright Falls. his wife Alice disappears and it is up to Alan to find her. To do this, he must use light to uncover the game’s world, unravel the mystery and find his wife.

Rust is game from independent video game developer Facepunch Studios, who also created the famous Gary’s Mod. The game is based on a combination of Minecraft, DayZ and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Project Zomboid

PLATFORMS: Microsoft Windows, Linux, Java, Macintosh operating systems

Project Zomboid is a game by independent video game developer The Indie Stone and falls within the open world survival horror genre. the game hurls you into a post apocalyptic world full of zombies. Your mission is simple: stay alive for as long as you can before dying.

Dead Space

Highly violent third person shooter set in space with tons of scary aliens and death scenes.

DayZ has you playing in a fictional post-Soviet state known as Chernarus where a virus has caused the people to turn into zombies. You play as one of the survivors and must find water, food, weapons and medicine while avoiding or killing hordes of zombies and choosing to either play co-operatively or competitively against other players as you try to survive the apocalypse.

State of Decay is an open world survival horror game packed full of zombies. The game was made by video game developer Undead Labs. State of Decay is all about using the resources available to help you to survive. You’ll need to use stealth, resources, evasion and base building to survive the zombies.
