A Halo 15 Anniversary teaser trailer was released on Youtube yesterday. The trailer celebrated the amazing 15 years of Halo.Fans were immediately excited about the possibility of a Halo 3 Anniversary edition.  But, damn, it turns out we all god ahead of ourselves.

Halo fans believed that 343 Industries would be working on Halo 3 Anniversary. But Frank O’Connor, development director of Halo, has confirmed for us that Halo 3 Anniversary is absolutely not in development. (see post 49 in the link above).

When a fan on NeoGaf asked O’Connor about Halo 3 Anniversary, he said, “We are continuing to work on Halo Wars 2 and future endeavours. There are no Halo 3 Anniversary plans at this time and the diminishing returns would make it a tricky proposition anyway.”

Sadly, we have confirmed through 343 Industries that the Halo 15th anniversary video is actually nothing more than a celebration of Halo through the years. Fans are now planning heating up forums wondering what they can do to get a Hao 3 Anniversary made. And we here at GPR are hoping to interview 343 Industries about this early next week (follow us on Facebook / Twitter if you’d like an update on that).

Halo 1 and Halo 2 have already has anniversary editions. Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary dropped back in 2011. Halo 2 anniversary hit back in 2014.  But Halo 3 is the best Halo game ever and it desperately needs an anniversary edition.

Share this page and let’s see what we can do to get 343 interested in a Halo 3 Anniversary.
